While a rep with a full line card may not be looking for a new product, reps are always looking for “the right product”. Put simply, even if a rep doesn’t have capacity for a new line today, they may adjust their capacity if they find a brand that could be a big success. Reps with limited capacity may also continue to speak with brands in case they drop or lose an existing line; this happens all the time, so brands should seek to build a network of relationships with reps even if it doesn’t result in an immediate engagement.
